In a Real Love (Phil Vassar)

Oh no! I just realized that this song shouldn’t really be in my top 5. I have another Phil Vassar song that I thought I put on the CD instead of this one. Man!!!! That sucks, and being the perfectionist that I am if I didn’t already give you the CD I would remake it. But oh well, I will go with the flow and explain this story (that is really 6 or 7 on my phil list) This is a story about two highschool sweethearts that ran off to get married on HS grad night. Then a little later, it was guess what, ready or not. Okay, I can’t talk about this song any more because I am starting to get mad about the one I left off.

My Next 30 Years (Written and performed here by Phil Vassar)

But as you know it was made famous by Tim McGraw(did you notice that I didn’t put this song in my timmy (not you) top 5? I thought I would give Phil the credit because he wrote it and I like the piano;) I have a mission for you, if you choose to accept it. Since you have a year and 9 month until your 30th birthday, you should get the music and learn how to play this song so you can play it on your birthday. I think it is so good, I am going to type out all the words for you (okay cut and paste and then change the font :).

“I think I'll take a moment to celebrate my age, The ending of an era and the turning of a page Now it's time to focus in on where I go from here, Lord have mercy on my next thirty years Hey my next thirty years I'm gonna have some fun, Try to forget about all the crazy things I've done maybe now I've conquered all my adolescent fears, And I'll do it better in my next thirty years

My next thirty years I'm gonna settle all the scores, Cry a little less, laugh a little more Find a world of happiness without the hate and fear, Figure out just what I'm doing hereIn my next thirty years

Oh my next thirty years, I'm gonna watch my weight, Eat a few more salads and not stay up so late Drink a little lemonade and not sooo many beers, Maybe I'll remember my next thirty years

My next thirty years will be the best years of my life, Raise a little family and hang out with my Wife, Spend precious moments with the ones that I hold dear, Make up for lost time here, in my next thirty years”

I Need You (Tim Mcgraw and Faith Hill duet)

This was my favorite song two summers ago. “I need you, like a needle needs a vein, like my uncle Joe in Oklahoma needs the rain, I need you, like the lighthouse on the coast, like the father and the son need the holy ghost, I need you”. These are similes not metaphors. Too bad they don’t they have this on Rockband, I like to sing the faith Hill part and you would be perfect to sing the Tim McGraw part. Maybe will have to do karaoke for my first time;)

Just to See you Smile (Tim McGraw)

So this song is really on the border between 5 and 6 but I know that you liked it so I put it on her just to see you smile;)Ah the things he would do just to see her smile, including letting her go at the end. “Just to see you smile, I’d do anything that you wanted me to, when all is set and done, I’d never count the cost, its worth all that’s lost, just to see you smile.”

My Last Name (Dierks Bentley)

This is probably my favorite Dierks Bently song. I love it! It is one of those three part time songs all about his last name. The first part is when he first started school and some bully made fun of his last name and Dierks punched him. The second part is when Grandpa went to the war and instead of him coming home, the last name came home when they sent the dogtags. The third part is when he is proposing to his wife. He doesn’t have much to give her except his last name:) I want to write all the lyrics out for you but I isn’t that the point of Mich notes, to summarize? :) oh but maybe I should be criminal? ;)
“I learned how to write it, when I first started school, Some bully didn't like it, said it didn't sound too Cool, So I had to hit him, and all I said when the blood came It's my last name Grandpa took it off to Europe, to fight the Germans in the war, It came back on some dog tags, nobody wears no more, It's written on a headstone, in the field where he was slain, It's my last name
Passed down from generations, too far back to trace, I can see all my relations, when I look into my face, May never make it famous, but I'll never bring it shame, It's my last name
Daddy always told me, far back as I recall, Son you're part of something, you represent us all
So keep it how you got it, as solid as it came, It's my last name
So darlin if you're wonderin, why I've got you here tonight, I wanna be your husband, I want you to be my wife, Ain't got much to give you, but what I've got means everything
It's my last name, I learned how to write it, when I first started school”

Better As A Memory (Kenny Chesney)

I love this song too! I guess I love all of them or they wouldn’t be on here :) This song is about a previous relationship that it better as a memory. You may not know it at the time but that brings me to my favorite line is at the end “One day you’re gonna find someone, right away you’ll know its true, that all of your seeking’s done, just a part of the passing through, right there in that moment, you’ll finally understand, that I was better as a memory than as your man”

Down the Road (Kenny Chesney with Mac McAnally) UPDATED

This is a pretty new song for KC. It is technically not in my top five (don’t tell anyone) but I couldn’t resist because it reminds me of you and I like it a lot. “Four houses down from me was a family with an only child, she was the only girl in this whole world that could make me smile”… “Now down the street from here, there’s an engineer with an only son and our baby girl says that she believes that his is the only one…” Definitely a double OCS song;)

UPDATE: Here we go, it’s our song. Do you know how many times and for how many songs we are able to say that? well that is very special ;) Again the original michnote was kept light (for 4th date purposes).

“When I was a boy. Four houses down from me was a family with an only child, she was the only girl in this whole world that could make me smile. Down the road, I made up reasons to go down the road. Somewhere inside of me, there was something she took a liking to, well I asked her to marry me, she said she really wanted to, Down the road, To see what life’s gonna hold, Down the road Her momma wants to know am I washed in the blood or just in the water, her daddy wants to know If I make enough to take his daughter Down the road, Before he can let her go, Down the road Now down the street from here, There’s an engineer with an only son, And our baby girl says She believes that he is the only one. Down the Road, Her momma wants to know Is he washed in the blood or just in the water, And I want to know That he makes enough to take my daughter Down the Road When it comes time to go, Down the Road Down the road, You know I want to help her go, down the road, Down, down, down that road, Down, down, down that road”

For the record, I do believe that you are the only one ;)

Only In America (Brooks and Dunn)

This song reminds me of the Folsom rodeo on Forth of July. It fits well for most patriotic situations. This has a good dance around and sing beat too. You should see me at the Brooks and Dunn Concert;) My favorite part is about “a welder’s son and a banker’s daughter”. That’s a random fun fact but its true!

Red Dirt Road (Brooks and Dunn)

This song is about growing up in the country and all the life adventures that happened along that red dirt road. Doesn’t it just make you want to get up and sing and dance? When you sing it, you can change Mary to Michi if you like;)or sunrise blvd;)

She’s Every Woman (Garth Brooks)

This one is pretty self explanatory and slow so you can pick it up I think. It’s all about me :) Just kidding, well not really. Guess you will have to continue the missions to find out :)
“She’s sun and rain, she’s fire and ice, a little crazy but it’s nice.”…“She’s anything but typical, she’s so unpredictable… she’s as real as real can be, and she’s every Fantasy.

Carried Away (George Strait) UPDATED

“I get carried away by the look, by the light in your eyes, before I even realize the ride I’m on, baby I’m long gone. I get carried away, nothing matters but being with you, like a feather flying high up in the sky on a windy day, I get carried away.” Sounds familiar huh?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAatUmbWWdg

UPDATE: Considering I wrote that michnote prior to our 4th date, I think that was very cute and very appropriate. For your singing pleasure, here are the full lyrics. Come on, pretend you are in church;)

“I don't take my whiskey to extremes Don't believe in chasin' crazy dreams My feet are planted firmly on the ground But darlin' when you come around I get carried away by the look by the light in your eyes Before I even realize the ride I'm on baby I'm long gone I get carried away nothin' matters but bein' with you Like a feather flyin' high up in the sky on a windy day, I get carried away.

It might seem like an ordinary night Same ol' stars, the same ol' moon up high But when I see you standin' at your door Nothin's ordinary anymore. I get carried away by the look by the light in your eyes Before I even realize the ride I'm on baby I'm long gone I get carried away nothin' matters but bein' with you Like a feather flyin' high up in the sky on a windy day, I get carried away.

I get carried away by the look by the light in your eyes Before I even realize the ride I'm on baby I'm long gone I get carried away nothin' matters but bein' with you Like a feather flyin' high up in the sky on a windy day, I get carried away. Carried away”

There is not too much more to explain, except for the fact that I was carried away then and I still get carried away now! What a wonderful feeling ;)

She’s Everything (Brad Paisley)

This is my favorite Brad Paisley song. You have to listen to this one too, its pretty self explanatory ;)
