Then (Brad Paisley)

“I remember, trying not to stare the night that I first met you, you had me mesmerized.

And three weeks [dates] later, in the front porch light taking forty-five minutes to kiss goodnight…

And I remember, taking you back to right where I first met you, You were so surprised…”

What is funny about this song is that as I was composing the very first fav five cd, this song was pretty new and I had heard it but didn’t really have a connection to it so I didn’t put it on the cd.. Then one day, I forgot the exact day, I was listening to the radio and heard it, I couldn’t believe that this story was written for us! So that is why this is the very first song I put on the straggler CD. I can’t believe that you thought the same thing;)We should, if there are still missions of course, go to a Brad Paisley concert next year when he comes to town. I can’t go this year because I have Jayme’s bachelorette party but it would be could to go next year and look back at “then”…

UPDATE: What better song to kick this CD off than with our anthem. I shortened some of the lyrics the first go around but here are the lyrics in full;)

“I remember, trying not to stare the night that I first me you, you had me memorized, and three weeks later in the front porch light taking forty five minutes to kiss good night, I hadn't told you then, but I thought I loved you then.

Now you're my whole life, now you're my whole world, I just can’t believe the way I feel about you girl

Like the river meets the sea, stronger then it’s ever been, we've come so far since that day and I thought I loved you then.

I remember, taking you back to right where I first met you, you were so surprised, there were people around, but I didn't care , I got down on one knee, right there and once again I thought I loved you then

Now your my whole life, now you're my whole world, I just can’t believe the way I feel about you girl like the river meets the sea, stronger then its ever been, we've come so far since that day and I thought I loved you then

I can just see with you with a baby on the way, I can just see you when your hair is turning gray what I can’t see is how I'm ever gonna love you more, but I've said that before

Now you're my whole life, now you're my whole world, I just can’t believe the way I feel about you girl

You'll look back some day at this moment that we're in and Ill look at you and say and I thought I loved you then and i thought i loved you then”

I only hope that we look back someday at this moment that we’re in and you say I thought you loved me then;)

Little Moments (Brad Paisley)

I actually just heard this song for the first time today. I needed a good 5th favorite Brad Paisley song and I just couldn’t resist. I love it! This song reminds me so much of me :) Definitely not perfect to say the least, but definitely not ever boring eitherJ So remember, you can’t let me drive your car under any circumstances because I might break it like in the song; and how I am not good at baking.. I hope you like the little moments we have shared so far and I look forward to more to come (if there are additional missions ;)

UPDATE: Cuuute! I am trying to remember if I made the CD before or after the infamous cupcake incident… I wrote this before! All I can say is that I told you in advance that I wasn’t good at baking ;) This is another cute anthem for us. Thanks Brad. You will notice that the theme of this CD is that I am including all the lyrics for all the songs since you are soooo visual. Here you go baby. And remember don’t ever ever let me drive the suby ;) Take time to enjoy all the Little Moments.

“Well I'll never forget the first time that I heard that pretty mouth say that dirty word and I can't even remember now what she backed my truck into but she covered her mouth and her face got red and she just looked so darn cute that I couldn't even act like I was mad. Yeah I live for little moments like that. Well that's just like last year on my birthday, She lost all track of time and burnt the cake and every smoke detector in the house was goin' off and she was just about to cry until I took her in my arms and I tried not to let her see me laugh. Yeah I live for little moments like that. I know she's not perfect but she tries so hard for me and I thank god that she isn't 'cause how boring would that be. It's the little imperfections it's the sudden change in plans when she misreads the directions and we're lost but holdin' hands. Yeah I live for little moments like that when she's layin' on my shoulder on the sofa in the dark and about the time she falls asleep so does my right arm and I want so bad to move it 'cause it's tinglin' and it's numb, but she looks so much like and angel that I don't wanna wake her up. Yeah I live for little moments when she steals my heart again and doesn't even know it. Yeah I live for little moments like that”

Home (Blake Shelton with Miranda Lambert)

Blake covered this song from a Michael Buble song. I know you said you don’t know what that is and it is not important here. I am just trying to throw in a little BS so you know who he is in the event that we do go to the concert. Reminder that he is Miranda Lambert’s boyfriend.

UPDATE: We’ve woke up to this song a few times so when I hear it, I think of that. I also know this is how would feel if I was traveling all the time away from you. Being great places is nice but if I don’t have you to share them with they don’t mean as much. I would rather be sitting at home on the couch by the fire cuddling with you than off in Paris or Rome without you. Also, this shows too, how much you now know Blake Shelton, thanks to Barbara. Barbara commented on the way Blake looked at Miranda when he sang this song with her at the concert. He is totally in love and adores her and it shows in his look. It makes me happy to know that you make me feel the same way when you look at me;)

“Another summer day, has come and gone away, In Paris and Rome, but I wanna go home, Mmmmmmmm Maybe surrounded by, a million people I, still feel all alone, I wanna go home, Oh, I miss you, you know And I’ve been keeping all the letters that I wrote to you, each one a line or two I’m fine baby, how are you? I would send them but I know that it’s just not enough, My words were cold and flat And you deserve more than that Another airplane, Another sunny place, I’m lucky I know, But I wanna go home, I’ve got to go home Let me go home, I’m just too far from where you are, I wanna come home And I feel just like I’m living someone else’s life, It’s like I just stepped outside, When everything was going right, And I know just why you could not, Come along with me, This was not your dream But you always believed in me Another winter day has come, And gone away, In even Paris and Rome, And I wanna go home Let me go home, And I’m surrounded by, A million people I, Still feel alone, And I wanna go home Oh, I miss you, you know Let me go home, I’ve had my run, Baby, I’m done, I'm coming back home, Let me go home, It'll all be all right, I’ll be home tonight, I’m coming back home.”

These are the Moments (Sara Evans)

This song describes some of my favorite moments, like when were are lying in the tent before everyone woke up, or when we took a nap in my guest room or during all of other m & T P talk time, this song literally plays in my head.

“Lying here with you, listening to the rain, smiling just to see a smile upon your face, these are moments, I thank God that I’m alive, these are the moments I’ll remember all my life, I’ve found all I’ve waited for and I could not ask for more.

Looking in your eyes Seeing all I need, Everything you are is everything in me, These are the moments, I know heaven must exist, These are the moments, I know all I need is this I've found all I've waited for, And I could not ask for more.

I could not ask for more than this time together, I could not ask for more than this time with you

And every prayer has been answered, Every dream I've had's come true, Yeah, right here in this moment, Is right where I'm meant to be, Here with you here with me…”

In a Real Love (Phil Vassar)

Oh no! I just realized that this song shouldn’t really be in my top 5. I have another Phil Vassar song that I thought I put on the CD instead of this one. Man!!!! That sucks, and being the perfectionist that I am if I didn’t already give you the CD I would remake it. But oh well, I will go with the flow and explain this story (that is really 6 or 7 on my phil list) This is a story about two highschool sweethearts that ran off to get married on HS grad night. Then a little later, it was guess what, ready or not. Okay, I can’t talk about this song any more because I am starting to get mad about the one I left off.

My Next 30 Years (Written and performed here by Phil Vassar)

But as you know it was made famous by Tim McGraw(did you notice that I didn’t put this song in my timmy (not you) top 5? I thought I would give Phil the credit because he wrote it and I like the piano;) I have a mission for you, if you choose to accept it. Since you have a year and 9 month until your 30th birthday, you should get the music and learn how to play this song so you can play it on your birthday. I think it is so good, I am going to type out all the words for you (okay cut and paste and then change the font :).

“I think I'll take a moment to celebrate my age, The ending of an era and the turning of a page Now it's time to focus in on where I go from here, Lord have mercy on my next thirty years Hey my next thirty years I'm gonna have some fun, Try to forget about all the crazy things I've done maybe now I've conquered all my adolescent fears, And I'll do it better in my next thirty years

My next thirty years I'm gonna settle all the scores, Cry a little less, laugh a little more Find a world of happiness without the hate and fear, Figure out just what I'm doing hereIn my next thirty years

Oh my next thirty years, I'm gonna watch my weight, Eat a few more salads and not stay up so late Drink a little lemonade and not sooo many beers, Maybe I'll remember my next thirty years

My next thirty years will be the best years of my life, Raise a little family and hang out with my Wife, Spend precious moments with the ones that I hold dear, Make up for lost time here, in my next thirty years”

I Need You (Tim Mcgraw and Faith Hill duet)

This was my favorite song two summers ago. “I need you, like a needle needs a vein, like my uncle Joe in Oklahoma needs the rain, I need you, like the lighthouse on the coast, like the father and the son need the holy ghost, I need you”. These are similes not metaphors. Too bad they don’t they have this on Rockband, I like to sing the faith Hill part and you would be perfect to sing the Tim McGraw part. Maybe will have to do karaoke for my first time;)

Just to See you Smile (Tim McGraw)

So this song is really on the border between 5 and 6 but I know that you liked it so I put it on her just to see you smile;)Ah the things he would do just to see her smile, including letting her go at the end. “Just to see you smile, I’d do anything that you wanted me to, when all is set and done, I’d never count the cost, its worth all that’s lost, just to see you smile.”

My Last Name (Dierks Bentley)

This is probably my favorite Dierks Bently song. I love it! It is one of those three part time songs all about his last name. The first part is when he first started school and some bully made fun of his last name and Dierks punched him. The second part is when Grandpa went to the war and instead of him coming home, the last name came home when they sent the dogtags. The third part is when he is proposing to his wife. He doesn’t have much to give her except his last name:) I want to write all the lyrics out for you but I isn’t that the point of Mich notes, to summarize? :) oh but maybe I should be criminal? ;)
“I learned how to write it, when I first started school, Some bully didn't like it, said it didn't sound too Cool, So I had to hit him, and all I said when the blood came It's my last name Grandpa took it off to Europe, to fight the Germans in the war, It came back on some dog tags, nobody wears no more, It's written on a headstone, in the field where he was slain, It's my last name
Passed down from generations, too far back to trace, I can see all my relations, when I look into my face, May never make it famous, but I'll never bring it shame, It's my last name
Daddy always told me, far back as I recall, Son you're part of something, you represent us all
So keep it how you got it, as solid as it came, It's my last name
So darlin if you're wonderin, why I've got you here tonight, I wanna be your husband, I want you to be my wife, Ain't got much to give you, but what I've got means everything
It's my last name, I learned how to write it, when I first started school”

Better As A Memory (Kenny Chesney)

I love this song too! I guess I love all of them or they wouldn’t be on here :) This song is about a previous relationship that it better as a memory. You may not know it at the time but that brings me to my favorite line is at the end “One day you’re gonna find someone, right away you’ll know its true, that all of your seeking’s done, just a part of the passing through, right there in that moment, you’ll finally understand, that I was better as a memory than as your man”

Down the Road (Kenny Chesney with Mac McAnally) UPDATED

This is a pretty new song for KC. It is technically not in my top five (don’t tell anyone) but I couldn’t resist because it reminds me of you and I like it a lot. “Four houses down from me was a family with an only child, she was the only girl in this whole world that could make me smile”… “Now down the street from here, there’s an engineer with an only son and our baby girl says that she believes that his is the only one…” Definitely a double OCS song;)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9wPAkJhSMw

UPDATE: Here we go, it’s our song. Do you know how many times and for how many songs we are able to say that? well that is very special ;) Again the original michnote was kept light (for 4th date purposes).

“When I was a boy. Four houses down from me was a family with an only child, she was the only girl in this whole world that could make me smile. Down the road, I made up reasons to go down the road. Somewhere inside of me, there was something she took a liking to, well I asked her to marry me, she said she really wanted to, Down the road, To see what life’s gonna hold, Down the road Her momma wants to know am I washed in the blood or just in the water, her daddy wants to know If I make enough to take his daughter Down the road, Before he can let her go, Down the road Now down the street from here, There’s an engineer with an only son, And our baby girl says She believes that he is the only one. Down the Road, Her momma wants to know Is he washed in the blood or just in the water, And I want to know That he makes enough to take my daughter Down the Road When it comes time to go, Down the Road Down the road, You know I want to help her go, down the road, Down, down, down that road, Down, down, down that road”

For the record, I do believe that you are the only one ;)

Only In America (Brooks and Dunn)

This song reminds me of the Folsom rodeo on Forth of July. It fits well for most patriotic situations. This has a good dance around and sing beat too. You should see me at the Brooks and Dunn Concert;) My favorite part is about “a welder’s son and a banker’s daughter”. That’s a random fun fact but its true!

Red Dirt Road (Brooks and Dunn)

This song is about growing up in the country and all the life adventures that happened along that red dirt road. Doesn’t it just make you want to get up and sing and dance? When you sing it, you can change Mary to Michi if you like;)or sunrise blvd;)

She’s Every Woman (Garth Brooks)

This one is pretty self explanatory and slow so you can pick it up I think. It’s all about me :) Just kidding, well not really. Guess you will have to continue the missions to find out :)
“She’s sun and rain, she’s fire and ice, a little crazy but it’s nice.”…“She’s anything but typical, she’s so unpredictable… she’s as real as real can be, and she’s every Fantasy.

Carried Away (George Strait) UPDATED

“I get carried away by the look, by the light in your eyes, before I even realize the ride I’m on, baby I’m long gone. I get carried away, nothing matters but being with you, like a feather flying high up in the sky on a windy day, I get carried away.” Sounds familiar huh?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAatUmbWWdg

UPDATE: Considering I wrote that michnote prior to our 4th date, I think that was very cute and very appropriate. For your singing pleasure, here are the full lyrics. Come on, pretend you are in church;)

“I don't take my whiskey to extremes Don't believe in chasin' crazy dreams My feet are planted firmly on the ground But darlin' when you come around I get carried away by the look by the light in your eyes Before I even realize the ride I'm on baby I'm long gone I get carried away nothin' matters but bein' with you Like a feather flyin' high up in the sky on a windy day, I get carried away.

It might seem like an ordinary night Same ol' stars, the same ol' moon up high But when I see you standin' at your door Nothin's ordinary anymore. I get carried away by the look by the light in your eyes Before I even realize the ride I'm on baby I'm long gone I get carried away nothin' matters but bein' with you Like a feather flyin' high up in the sky on a windy day, I get carried away.

I get carried away by the look by the light in your eyes Before I even realize the ride I'm on baby I'm long gone I get carried away nothin' matters but bein' with you Like a feather flyin' high up in the sky on a windy day, I get carried away. Carried away”

There is not too much more to explain, except for the fact that I was carried away then and I still get carried away now! What a wonderful feeling ;)

She’s Everything (Brad Paisley)

This is my favorite Brad Paisley song. You have to listen to this one too, its pretty self explanatory ;)
